Terms of Service

Effective date: 1 April 2026 · Governing law: Japan

1. Parties

These Terms govern access to programs, websites, and materials operated by NodeHub Focus (“we”, “us”) for learners, employers, and visitors (“you”).

2. Data controller & contact

The data controller is NodeHub Focus, 209-1146, Motoyoshicho Shimojuku, Kesennuma-shi, Miyagi, Japan. Contact: +81 17-041-2056 and the Connect form on this domain for written requests.

3. Data categories collected

We collect identity and contact data, billing references, coursework artifacts you submit, technical logs from our static site delivery, and optional analytics if you opt in via the cookie banner.

4. Purposes & legal bases

Contract performance: delivering tracks, grading, certificates. Legitimate interests: securing accounts, improving rubrics, aggregating anonymized metrics. Consent: non-essential cookies where applicable.

5. Retention

Enrollment records are retained for seven years for tax and audit obligations unless a shorter period is mandated. Submitted projects are retained until you request deletion, subject to mentor audit needs (maximum twenty-four months after cohort end).

6. Third-party sharing

We share data with payment processors, email delivery providers, and hosting vendors under written agreements. We do not sell personal data.

7. User rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability where applicable. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us using the Connect page; we respond within thirty days unless complexity requires an extension (we will notify you).

8. International transfers

When vendors process data outside Japan, we rely on contractual clauses and vendor certifications appropriate to the service. Copies of safeguards are available on request for enterprise sponsors.

9. Security

We apply role-based access for staff, encrypted transport for web traffic, and least-privilege credentials for systems handling submissions. No method is perfectly secure; report suspected incidents immediately.

10. Children’s privacy

Programs are intended for adults and supervised professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children under sixteen without verifiable guardian consent.

11. Policy changes

We will post updates on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes to how coursework data is processed will be emailed to active cohorts.

12. Limitation & disputes

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses. Disputes should first be addressed through good-faith negotiation; venue maps to Miyagi Prefecture courts unless mandatory consumer rules provide otherwise.
